Proyecto Las Compuertas is the Durigutti brothers' project to protect the heritage vineyards of Las Compuertas, the coolest corner of Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza. Since 2007 they have restored 34 hectares of historic vines, named Finca Victoria after their mother.

Cordisco is a grape from Abruzzo, Italy, first planted here as an experimental plot within the vineyard.

Tasting notes

Ruby red, with an expressive nose of black fruit and wild rose. Good tension on the palate, where the complex fruity and floral profile returns, with an elegant, fresh finish.

Winemaking

Vineyard at 1,050 m on deep clay loam, planted in 2012 and organically farmed. Hand-picked and optically sorted, fermented with native yeasts in uncoated concrete eggs, with malolactic fermentation and 4 months of aging in the same eggs. Alcohol 12.1%. 4,310 bottles. Serve at 12–14 °C. Winemakers Héctor and Pablo Durigutti.
