Rutini Colección Merlot
The Rutini history can be traced back to 19th-century Italy, before the family settled in Maipú, one of the classic wine areas of Mendoza. The Rutini Colección is a premium range of single varietals and bi-varietals from the bodega's own vineyards in the Uco Valley (Tupungato, Altamira and La Consulta). The range is well recognized for its remarkable quality, its aristocratic style, aromatic complexity and structure, and its loyalty to the classic French winemaking style. It carries Rutini's most emblematic label and has been the most listed wine in Argentine restaurants since 1994.
The Rutini Merlot is a very silky, ripe and fascinating Merlot from Tupungato. Intense red with violet reflections, with both ripeness and freshness. The nose offers red fruit and jam, with notes of vanilla from the new oak. Medium to full-bodied and balanced, smooth on the palate with a prolonged, silky finish. A genuine classic, made to last.
Merlot goes great with white and dark meats such as chicken, turkey and pork, as well as pasta, burgers and pizza.
100% Merlot. Aged 12 months, 50% in new French oak barrels and 50% in second-use barrels. Serve at 16-18 °C (60-65 °F). Winemaker: Mariano Di Paola.
