Argentina is regarded as one of the most dynamic wine-producing nations in the world, and Mendoza is the most important region in its wine industry. What is less known is that Argentinians love sparkling wine, called espumante. It has been produced in Argentina since the 19th century, and in 1959 the Champagne house Moët & Chandon chose Mendoza for its first subsidiary outside France. Today around 160 wineries produce sparkling wine in Argentina, most of them in Mendoza. Rutini, founded in 1885 and one of the largest winegrowers in Argentina, is also one of the leaders in espumante.

This San Felipe Extra Brut is made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Straw yellow with greenish reflections and a delicate, persistent fine bead that shows its finesse and quality. The nose opens with a fruity bouquet with pleasant hints of pineapple and white peach. Citrus notes appear on the palate, with a slight hint of toast and a clean, fresh finish.

An ideal companion for fish and seafood, starters and white meats. Pick out a bottle of San Felipe, gather your friends or loved ones, pop the cork, and celebrate life!

Aged 6 months. Serve at 4-6 °C. Winemaker: Paula Witkowski.
